HP are discontinuing and withdrawing engineering support for their fourth generation of HPE MSA 1040, 2040 and 2042 Storage arrays. As of 31 January 2018 these product lines will be discontinued and on 30 April 2023 all engineering & HPE support will be removed for this product line. This withdrawal includes:
- No new interoperability items will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new host operating systems will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new HDD/SSD hardware will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new drive firmware will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new HBAs will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new network infrastructure components will be added to the SPOCK matrix
- No new spare parts to be manufactured
What should I do if my storage is being discontinued?
Evaris recommend that you replace any stock which is scheduled for discontinuation for the following reasons:
- No manufacturer support
- Spares become difficult to source
- Integration with new units becomes more difficult
